I'd love to share a little about myself.
Hi, I'm Christina Weng and I'm passionate about well-being and sharing the transformative power of yoga with others. It's pulled me through the most challenging times in my life, and has allowed me to deeply feel and appreciate all the blessings too. I firmly believe it can help anyone and everyone live a more mindful and joyFULL life. My intention is to help others gain strength, flexibility, equanimity, and balance both on the mat and in their lives. Whether it's the work I do as a HR talent manager or as a certified yoga instructor my dharma is to serve my communities. When I'm not working you can find me spending time with my husband and 3 boys, chasing sunsets, finding picturesque spots to ground myself (my favorite involves the beach), cooking & eating, and dreaming about my next travel adventure. Born and raised in NYC and currently residing in sunny Southern California you can expect me to tell it to you straight with sunny chill vibes.
I invite you to close your eyes and recall how many times you’ve had too much on your plate. This is a common scenario of overwhelm that women have in our society today. We are asked to do and be so much - from being a badass career woman, caring for your family/friends, and investing in our communities it's easy to put time for ourselves on the back burner. Does this resonate with you?
I know these scenarios well - I used to put my career, family, and just about everything else before ME. At 40 I had the picture-perfect life - loving husband, 3 healthy beautiful children, a great career… I had everything I ever wanted and thought I was happy but when I dug through the surface I realized I was in a constant state of stress, overwhelm, and anxiety. My productivity at home and at work came at a price and a high level of stress was my baseline, and it was starting to show up in my mental and physical well-being. I was constantly exhausted, not exercising consistently, not eating or sleeping right, and not getting any “Me Time”.
After feeling off for a few years I had a pretty undramatic meltdown and what I call midlife "awakening". I knew something needed to change or something more dramatic would force me to. My intuition told me to book a yoga retreat and first solo vacation ever, which was truly transformative. It sounds simple but the truth was I wasn't prioritizing me. Post retreat I continued to listen to my intuition and went from hustle mentality to slower living with a more profound sense of gratitude. Fast forward a few years and through trying lots of different things I’m happy to say that I’ve found practices that have restored my sanity, health, inner peace, and joy. Yoga is at the core of my practice, it is what grounds and sustains me and I know it will help guide me through the rest of my life. And guess what, I'm probably more productive now than ever now that I have the right tools to support my self-care and well-being. You know what they say -- you can't pour from an empty cup.
So if you're struggling like I was… I want you to be able to make a shift in your life. I use yoga as the foundational practice to help my students connect to their breath and their bodies. With the realization that yoga is more than a physical practice, that it's a way of living, I ultimately help my students to live more joyfull and mindful lives.
